WHO WE ARE

Rob Taggart has been a Dental Technician for over 37 years. He set up the laboratory with his wife, Sandra, in 2003, and they have gone through many changes over the years. Now located on Castle Street, in Carlisle city centre, there is a modern, open-plan Dental Laboratory and a new Denture Clinic. All technicians are GDC registered and have undergone extensive training, the laboratory has DAMAS accreditation and is registered with the Dental Laboratory Association and British Bite Mark. In August 2018, Rob gained a Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh following two years’ study at UCLAN, Preston.

Working from the newly equipped Denture Clinic, Rob can use his technical experience and newly gained clinical qualification to provide Quality Bespoke Dentures direct to the public. As a Clinical Dental Technician, he can provide full dentures direct to the public, working on prescription from a dentist when remaining teeth are still present, as stated in the GDC’s Scope of Practice.

The laboratory’s aim is to provide an excellent product backed by a quality service – technicians are trained in BPS/IDenture, Gerber and Swiss Denture Concept and great emphasis is placed on education. The in-house training plan will see a third Apprentice Dental Technician qualify in 2020.

Rob Taggart comments – “Although we have many years of experience between us, we continue to develop our skills, attending courses on a regular basis. This allows us to keep up to date with new trends and the latest technology. We have three drivers collecting work daily throughout Cumbria and South West Scotland, and we also provide freepost labels for those practices further afield.
